ZF579 IN SAUDI
08/1970 after 2 years in storage at Jeddah, 53-671 at Dhahran air force base
shortly after its work up, with 2SQ 203.
Also 08/1970 after removal from storage.
53-671 taxies out with its sister ship at Dhahran airfield Saudi.
671 now coded as C with 203SQ c. 1980
ZF579 AT WARTON
01/86 53-671, now coded ZF579 in RAF livery, on finals to
Warton Aerodrome for storage.
09/87. Zf579 deteriorating, some 18 months after its gleaming arrival at
Warton. Outside storage is taking its toll already.
early 1988. Tucked up, but now over 2 years in outside storage, Zf579 is
still suffering from the effects of harsh esturine air.
Mid
1988, all but the jet pipe cover have long given up the fight, 579's steel
fastenings are suffering badly
Here, the strong winds that regularly battered 579 are clear to see, with
the jet pipe cover taking a beating.
